Announcing this during the introduction of the National Guidelines for Alternative Care for Children, aimed at ensuring vulnerable children receive appropriate care, the Minister stresses that the Nigerian government is investing in family-oriented policies that are protective and transformative.
The minister reaffirms Nigeria’s readiness to partner other countries to develop an international framework for promoting family resilience.

In a statement issued by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Jonathan Eze, highlights that co-opting family-focused approaches into national policy would strengthen caregiving systems and provide protection for vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
The Statement acknowledges that families are currently faced with numerous challenges, which cuts across health, over- population, and insecurity among others.
