The Federal Capital Territory FCT, Police Command has rescued a 25-year-old woman, Promise Eze, from a suspected armed robber and ritualist in a hotel in Wuse, Abuja.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
A statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that officers responded to a distress call from hotel staff on January 31, 2025.
Upon arrival, they found Eze tied to a small chair with her mouth covered with plaster.
Preliminary investigations revealed that she had checked into the hotel on January 30th with a man who identified himself as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State.
The FCT Police Command has launched a full-scale manhunt for the suspect and is urging the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest. FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, condemns the incident, urges, especially young women to exercise caution when meeting people online.
