FCSC WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST FAKE RECRUITMENT LINKS, SAYS NO FEES Required f

The Federal Civil Service Commission, FCSC, has warned Nigerians to disregard unauthorised recruitment messages and links circulating on social media and WhatsApp groups.

The Head of Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Zakariyya, said in a statement on Thursday that the Commission has not authorised any recruitment through private agents, blogs or individuals. He urged the public to verify all information through the official FCSC website and other authorised channels.

The Commission explained that recruitment into the Federal Civil Service is a regulated process guided by the Public Service Rules 2021.

Under the rules, appointments from Grade Level 07 to 17 are made by the Commission following advertisement in three national newspapers and on the official FCSC website, with a clear closing date. It added that no appointment can be made without an authorised establishment and the required waiver from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.

FCSC listed key safeguards for prospective applicants. They include verifying every announcement on the Commission’s official website, using only the application portal specified in an official advert, and reading the requirements carefully before applying.

The Commission also cautioned the public against paying money for forms, shortlisting, or appointment letters. “No individual should be engaged as an intermediary for the purpose of securing employment with the Commission,” the statement said.

Applicants were further advised to provide accurate information and genuine credentials, and to keep records of their application and reference numbers.

The Commission said false declarations or forged certificates could lead to disqualification and other penalties under the rules. Members of the public with doubts were urged to contact the Commission’s Help Desk directly for clarification.

FCSC reiterated its commitment to a transparent, merit-based and rules-driven recruitment process.

The Commission’s advice to prospective applicants is simple: “Verify before you trust, read before you apply, and ask before you act.”

It stressed that it does not endorse or take responsibility for any recruitment link or message not issued through its official channels.
