ABUJA — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, FCT Command has paraded six suspected oil pipeline vandals arrested for vandalism and theft of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, in Gwagwalada Area Council.
The FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, disclosed this on Wednesday, July 23, 2026, at Pagada I, Dobi Ward, where the suspects were arrested.

FCT CDPRO reveals that,
Odumosu said operatives of the Command’s Anti-Vandal Squad, acting on credible intelligence, arrested the suspects on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at about 3:30am while scooping PMS from an NNPC pipeline into jerrycans and plastic bags.
He said the suspects had punctured the pipeline with a drilling machine.
PARTICULARS OF SUSPECTS
- Yakubu Yahaya – 29, married, local vigilante, resident of Tsauni Town, Gwagwalada
- Garba Isah – 23, married, resident of Lambata Town, Gurara LGA, Niger State
- Mohammed Abubakar – 24, single, resident of Angwa Kungo, Gurara LGA, Niger State
- Yakubu Abdul – 20, single, resident of Agwada, Dobi Ward, Gwagwalada
- Ibrahim Ishaku – 30, single, resident of Agwada, Gwagwalada
- Musa Abdulwahab – 20, single, resident of Pagada I Village, Dobi Ward
EXHIBITS RECOVERED
- 2 motorcycles
- 4 x 25-litre jerrycans containing suspected PMS
- 2 empty 25-litre jerrycans
- 1 shovel
- 2 locally fabricated firearms
- 1 hand drilling machine suspected to have been used for the vandalism
All exhibits have been documented and secured for investigation and prosecution.
PRELIMINARY FINDINGS
According to the Commandant, investigation revealed that Yakubu Abdul, an indigene of Pagada I, allegedly invited Garba Isah and Mohammed Abubakar from Lambata to carry out the act.
He added that three of the suspects are vigilante members who allegedly provided security cover for the operation.
Odumosu condemned vandalism of critical national assets, describing it as economic sabotage that causes fuel scarcity, environmental damage and risk of fire explosions.
“We have intensified surveillance around all critical national assets and infrastructure in the FCT. Anyone caught destroying public infrastructure for selfish gains will be dealt with according to the law,” he said.
He appreciated the Dobi community for cooperating with security agencies and urged residents to continue providing timely intelligence.
The Commandant said the suspects have been granted administrative bail to enable them contact relatives while investigation continues. He has directed a full-scale probe to identify other members of the network.
