In a strategic bid to enhance security operations, the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has boosted local security efforts with the distribution of brand-new operational vehicles to vigilante groups across the council’s twelve wards.

The presentation, carried out on his behalf by the Council Secretary, Jafaru Gwagwa, saw Volkswagen Golf vehicles handed over to vigilante leaders to strengthen mobility, intelligence gathering, and rapid response to security threats in both urban and rural communities.

Gwagwa said the initiative reflects the Maikalangu administration’s “Security First” agenda, stressing that empowering local vigilantes who understand their terrain is non-negotiable.

Beneficiaries pledged to use the vehicles responsibly, as the council urged sustained vigilance to protect lives and property across AMAC.
