Permanent Voter Card collection exercise is limited to the Federal Capital Territory FCT, only.

Ahead of the21st February, 2026, Area Council elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has clarified that the ongoing Permanent Voter Card collection exercise is limited to the Federal Capital Territory FCT, only.

The commission made this known in a statement on its official X handle, urging residents of other states to disregard unverified reports about PVC collection in their areas.

INEC explains that the PVC collection in the FCT runs from 22nd to 26th January 2026, between 9am and 3pm daily, at voters’ respective Registration Areas or wards.

Eligible voters who miss the ward-level exercise will also be able to collect their PVCs later at INEC Area Council offices across the FCT, the commission added.

The electoral body stressed that no dates have been fixed yet for PVC collection in other states, assuring Nigerians that official schedules will be announced in due course.

INEC therefore appealed to voters outside the FCT to remain patient and rely only on verified information released through its official platforms.
