POLICE STAFF COLLEGE JOS PASSES OUT 94 OLCC PARTICIPANTS

In fulfilment of its statutory responsibilities of training and development of Police Officers to meet up with contemporary global standards, the Police Staff College,Jos has passed out 94 participants of the Operational Leadership and Command Course 11/2025

The graduation ceremony which was held at the Louis Edet Hall of the College today, was attended by heads of sister security agencies in honour of the Commandant’s invitation.

During the course period the participants were taught how to lead people with fairness and courage, plan and execute operations with clarity, manage communities, crises and conflicts, uphold the law without violating human dignity and how to think strategically and act responsibly.

They were also challenged to confront their assumptions, improve their judgement and strengthen their leadership ethics.

In his address, the Commandant of the elite institution, AIG Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka, phD, LLB, psc(+) commended the OLCC participants for their dedication, discipline and willingness to grow. He noted that the participants came to the College with different experiences, expectations, background but they are leaving with a shared identify as leaders who have been tested, refined and prepared for greater responsibility.

The Commandant tasked them to be the kind of leaders the people will trust, not fear, urging them to lead with firmness, but fairness should guide their actions.

” Your task is to bring better thinking, better, coordination, better discipline, and better humanity into your command role. Nigeria needs Officers who can combine operational strength with emotional intelligence, officers who can apply the law while respecting the people it protects.”, he enlightened.

AIG Emeka thanked the President and Commander In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership style and the Inspector- General of Police for his constant support.
